Alhamdulillah i finished reading these books today. they are as they have been named: VERY VERY VERY EASY. Amongst the easiest books i read to learn arabic in full arabic. maashaaAllah.

and the stories are the weirdest stories that i have seen in any arabic books so far. and that's why i wanted to write a review of these books.

I would say these books are for people who are mature and who are either married or are ready for the marriage and looking for that. i am sorry to say this but i really think these books are not for children or teenagers at all.

Every single stories is about marriage and family and looking to get marry and things about these, but in a GOOD WAY, not BAD except for last story of last book [3rd] i feel is kind of too much but he did not present in a bad way. it was normal to hear what he said and wrote. i mean you hear these all around you anyway.

the words are repeated as the author said in the intro and so by the end of 3 books you have some words just going around your head without your intention for it to happen.

and one of the word is in every story is: Majnun [crazy], i think the author has some of it too LOL otherwise why would his story be this weird right?

like he says in the stories, in the same tone, he is majnun. may Allah reward him for what he did.

The stories are too easy and with vocab lists, it helps you know those few unknown words you do not know and repetition helps you absorb the words. i hope i have benefited and i hope you benefit if you read: http://bookstolearnarabic.wordpress.com/more/sahlawayhi-series/

BUT i just did not like the fact that all stories had to do about marriage life, looking for marriage and things around it. that's it.

i did not read 1 story and half of another one in book 2 [the last 2 stories of this book] because it was too crazy and weird and it was about killing and too fantasy. i couldn't stand that story any longer. i left reading these books until i touched today book 3, hoping book 3 won't be continuation of the last book story. it wasn't. last 2 stories of book 2 are on same topic just made into 2 stories.

the stories are interesting so really makes you want to finish and know what happened. you know. so i just finished book 3 in one long sitting. alhamdulillah.

and suggestion do not read these books if you are not looking for marriage. 'smile'.

wait one benefit i found was about marriage and marrying other than your own country people and culture. He presented the stories in a way such that he is teaching you through the stories the obstacles and problems you will face and you should consider as you look to marry someone from other country and culture. i really liked that. Even marrying someone from other religion that brothers do, many muslim men marry non-muslim female out of desire or whatever and they never think about any problems that they face in future marriage life with a non-muslim women.

author presented a story like that and he pointed out the problems in them and the question he presented in dialog was: why didn't i think of this problem before marriage? problems continue and he ends saying what will the couple do with such problems...

it is the 2nd story of book 3. read it. it is nice.

i liked learning these lessons though. alhamdulillah.

Author:About four dictionaries to Learn Arabic.
i thought about writing a post on these 4 dictionaries that are out there for us to use to learn our Arabic Language for a long time but never made it until today, alhamdulillah and alhamdulillah Allah has blessed me with the tawpiq to buy all these four dictionaries.

and i am sure many of have all these dictionaries as well. Last two dictionaries:- Hans Wehr - Al-Mawrid, they are arabic to English and almawrid has English to Arabic dictionary in it as well, i hardly ever use that part.

and the first two dictionaries: Ra'id-ut-Tulab - Mu3jam al-Waseet are FULL ARABIC to Arabic dictionaries.

I do not know why the ARabic writing shows upside down in the picture, i tried to see if i can take pictures and writing shows up correctly but it doesn't work with my built in laptop camera.

But you see the order in the picture from left to write is like i wrote the subject of this review and the short dictionary in front of the middle one is al-mawrid.

Al-Mawrid

I think bought Al-Mawrid when i was in the 2nd semester of Arabic class in my college - CCNY - i used to hear the name of this dictionary a lot, Umm kutubah mentioned she has it and so this is the only dictionary i knew of at the time. and my teacher wanted us to buy an arabic dictionary as we will need it for the class. So i went ahead and bought this dictionary from dar-us-salam. it was $13 or $14 dollars i believe. It was think but i cut it into parts as it was hard to use. It is the pocket size one that i have.

maashaaAllah, we didn't use dictionary for that term and i hardly ever used this dictionary couple of years ago or even 5 months ago or few months ago, i used to feel like it was a waste of my money to buys this dictionary and i often felt like selling or giving it away or even return it as i didn't find it of much benefit but Allah willed to turn my heart around each time i thought of such for a reason i did not know

BUT i believe i know now after 2 years later almost alhamdulillah i have used this dictionary quite often here and there to look up words as i was studying and couldn't find in any other dictionaries i had. I felt grateful to Allah that He guided me to keep this dictionary that i bought long ago. alhamdulillah.

it is a very useful dictionary mostly if you are looking for nouns - for verbs it is ok as well but not so useful as it doesn't give but just the word and its meaning in English, and it doesn't give plurals of words, but as i was told it gives pretty accurate translation of arabic words. and this is what made this dictionary popular. and Allah knows best.

also it is a good dictionary for quick look up of words as words are organized in alphabetical order instead of root letters.

===================
Hans Wehr

It is the second dictionary i bought in the summer of 2008 i believe after the 2nd semester of my Arabic class in college, i was really looking to buy an electronic Dictionary online and i was searching and found some but they were very expansive but i was still willing to buy if i heard from people they were good, so i was searching and asking around if anyone ever used those dictionaries and how they are but no one seemed to know.

so i emailed our salafi Duat that i often contact Muhammad Yaseen, and i asked him for his advice with regard to buy an electronic dictionary like over $200 dollars as he learned Arabic as well. So he advised me saying that these are dictionaries good for translation for the traveler not for those who are learning Arabic as they don't give any grammar information of the words,

and he guided me to this dictionary Hans Wehr and said this is the best dictionary he knows of and it gives Arabic Grammar information and he said i should work hard like our salaf did in learning Arabic looking through books,

so i went ahead and bought this dictionary alhamdulillah from online after searching around in the google. and i have to say, i loved this dictionary and used it much since i bought it.

The dictionary is very good that i won't have to tell you, and it organizes the words based the Arabic words' root letters and also gives meaning of different forms of verbs for that root letters.

and some say to use this word it is HARD and you have to LEARN HOW TO USE IT first etc.

Firstly, CALM down ok, do not just look at the dictionary and say it is HARD and scary the people off who just approached this dictionary. SECONDLY, it is NOT hard but you just have to learn couple of words and a concept that is short and easy to use this dictionary, and THIRDLY, you are good to go with this dictionary inshaaAllah

i don't like to hear it anymore, this is hard, that is hard, like my mom said, people say eating is hard too, every time you want to eat, you have to open your mouth. ..lol.. not funny i know. but just take it easy and relax and don't run off saying it is HARD.

so here is how to use the dictionary:
1. the root letters are always THREE [3], and no more than that
2. when you see a word, just take off all extra letters added in it, and the extra letters are: س-أ-ل-ت-م-و-ن-ي-ه-ا : سألتمونيها

so if the words have more than 3 letters, you take off all extra letters and end up with 3 letters only, and in that 3 letters sometimes you will have س-أ-ل-ت-م-و-ن-ي-ه-ا as
root letters as well.

this is all. and also at the beginning of this dictionary, they tell you how to use it, and you have to know the FORMS of VERB and they are TEN [10] and they are #ed using roman numerical #s, I, II, III, IV, V, VI etc... and you have those patters given to you at the beginning of the dictionary. that's it.

this is a good dictionary to refer back to in learning verbs and their different forms meaning.

===================
Mu3jam al-Waseet

Brother Dawud adib mentions this dictionary as well and advised to use it and also this is the dictionary Dr. V. Abdur Raheem advices to buy in Madinah Book # 2 [if you finished this book, you know he says it to the last chapters, 2nd or 1st to last ones]

and i heard about from this madinah book so i was really to find and buy it but when i asked brother Aboo Imran he told me to buy Muktasher as-Sahih first so i got that.

But honest, i did not like that dictionary although it was short and looked nice and it has very brief definition, it looked very useless to me as i didn't understand the meaning but i liked the way they used to give much detail about the verbs and what bab they fall into etc. So i sold it and after long time i bought this dictionary after hearing the lecture of brother Dawud Adib i believe.

i sold couple of my books to get the money to buy, and alhamdulillah the store people were so nice, first time he sent me the dictionary, it was tore inside so i asked him back about it, and he sent me another copy and he gave me time to return the other copy whenever i was able. i was very very blessed with their kindness alhamdulillah, the brother was very kind and was like do not rush or worry about sending the other copy back, if you are able to then do whenever you can. so i did alhamdulillah.

i used this dictionary not too many times but i used it several times, at the beginning it looked hard but alhamdulillah then as i used it few times it became easy.

MaashaaAllah, it is like Hans Wehr and goes over the meaning of different forms of Verbs and nouns and def. are short and they give examples as well i believe. alhamdulillah.

and organizes the words based on the root letters as well but you have to know the full word and look to find it alphabetically as well. i tried both and it worked for me, sometimes if i just went by one it became hard to find the word.

when i got Ra'id-ut-Tulab - i checked meaning of the word in this raid ut tulab and mu3jam alwaseet and to my amazed they had the same def. in arabic. so i hope it is the case for all words but ra'id ut tulab does not give detail of grammar as mu3jam alwaseet does.

these are both arabic dictionary by the way. alhamdulillah.

===================
Ra'id-ut-Tulab

i use this dictionary more than any of the other ones above now and if i don't understand the meaning at all or cannot find a word in it, i go to other ones, and sometimes if i am in a rush to find a word i go to al-Mawrid

if cannot find then hans wehr.

Mu3jam alwaseet i do not use it as much as i use ra'id ut tulab as it is big to hand and also looking through much and ra'id ut tulab easy to hand and short and looking up is easy.

and the words are organized alphabetically instead of root letters so it is easy to find words in it. alhamdulillah

and def. are short and easy to understand as well alhamdulillah.

and i mentioned some info. about it and where to buy it here in this review CLICK HERE TO VIEW

This is the dictionary that brother Dawud Adib Mentioned to buy and he said it could be found in USA and yes you can buy it online from this place FROM HERE $14 dollars

I bought it from this store and alhamdulillah it is a hardcover book and pretty thick and medium size - you can check the next post about 3 dictionaries that i will post shortly inshaaAllah in the review section.

Very clear and good print, alhamdulillah and the dictionary is very very beneficial and i use it quiet often and try best not to look into any Ar. to Eng. dictionaries. the dictionary gives very short yet quite clear def. of the words and it gives the tasreef of the words as it mentions - and also plural of words as well, alhamdulillah.

I really would recommend anyone to buy this dictionary and use it often.

Alhamdulillah.

and i hope this info. is helpful for whoever reads it inshaaAllah and may Allah make it a benefit for us all and may Allah grant you and us success in our study of Arabic and grant us comprehensive understanding of Arabic Language ameen.

============================

I bought this book on Dec. of 2008, and after 1 and half years later almost Alhamdulillah i finished reading the main text of the book Yesterday. I didn't do the exercise because i started reading the book because i really MISSED studying Grammar of Arabic.

Arabic Grammar is amazing, honestly, i really love it much. it is so systematic and organized and logical alhamdulillah and it is beautiful. Alhamdulillah.

As i was eading the book, i was thinking of posting a review of it but i didn't want to write until i was done. There was one thing i wanted to say about this book that is: it is an EASY EASY EASY BOOK. Alhamdulillah.

MaashaaAllah, our noble shaykhah only took the basics of Arabic Grammar and made very brief chapters with brief text containing very brief explanation. Then she followed up with TWO section of Exercises, ONE that should be done with the main chapter and another that should be done by the student at home.

I just tried to do the exercises in my head at the beginning then i didn't do it later in the head. I was just focusing on the text of the book. InshaaAllah in future i will do the book with the exercises.

There seemed to be words that i didn't know the meaning of here and there so i didn't want to do the exercises for that as i have to open the dictionary and pen and papers etc. my aim was to study the grammar firstly. alhamdulillah.

i bought this book after reading the review of brother Aboo Imran that you can find here: CLICK HERE and he said, "lso for those doing Madinah Book Two and Three then you will have few problems understanding the lessons and principles as the Shaykhah used very clear and understandable terminology."

This is very true, alhamdulillah. maashaaallah i just realized i understood something else from what he said, that is "will have problem".

maashaaAllah no, i do not think those finishing 3 madinah books will have problem, maybe few as the brother said, not even few i think, maybe couple due to change of few terms here and there.

But the book is VERY EASY and it is VERY BASIC and it gives for the beginner what they should know at first.

BUT i think the exercises may take more grammar then what shaykhah explained because for the instruments of exception and sisters of innah, dhanna and kana" some more explanation is needed for each particles and also for Haal.

but the main text of the book is SO EASY. Alhamdulillah. For all beginners, this book is perfect and an excellent review as well and practice book alhamdulillah.

SO GET it....

Binding: Hardcover. 435 pgs

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently, Alhamdulillah, with His blessing and Tawpiq i am over this book with the audio, which i mentioned in here,http://studyarabic.multiply.com/journal/item/148/2_diff._audio_shar_of_aljaromiyah_by_Shaykh_Uthaymeen.

You can look at the text of the book here: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/fadakbooks_2078_100763710 - one page only.

I am about half way through of the book, alhamdulillah. I am using currently the 25 audios which is the audio that is used for the hard-copy book, transcription of the audios is the book.

The shar by Shaykh Uthaymeen is of course Excellent without any say, for beginner and for the Advance level people because it is a very detailed explanation of the book, with examples. After each topic explanation, shaykh will ask questions and will review in very detail, and he repeats matter such that after each topic you have good understand of the topic. Alhamdulillah.

The problem with the book is that it misses a lot of matters and sometimes it makes error as to what shaykh says, so i feel like getting a better version of this book, maybe other version is more accurate in their transcription.

I am not reading the book word for word of course, i am just following the book with the shaykh.

I think if i were to read this book without audio, i would get lost and make mistakes due to mistakes of the book. So Alhamdulillah for the guidance of Allah to the audio of this book. Alhamdulillah.

i wanted to do couple of things together, but i feel like i am just so used to now doing one thing at a time in short period that it is hard to do couple of things or few things at a time taking long time. Doesn't work out. so insha-Allah after i am done, i will see what i am doing.!!??!!

Also, as i follow the book i highlight the matters that look important to me so i don't get lost in just sitting and listening. i wish i could take notes as i listen but i am not good at taking notes yet, but insha-Allah in future. I haven't been writing much for a while as well, maa Shaa Allah.

I really like the way Shaykh Uthaymeen teaches, i feel like i am in a class, and listening to answers of the students and shaykh teaching and correcting them makes me feel part of the class.

Alhamdulillah, i actually never have any questions as i listen through, alhamdulillah, that's the best part, and i don't feel i don't understand. alhamdulillah.

I would suggest whoever finished all 3 madinah books to listen, and also whoever memorized aljaromiyah and understands arabic well enough.

Taking extra points is important as i feel. and Allah knows best. i hope you all get to benefit from this book as well.

Alhamdulillah,
Asalamualikum warahma tullahiwabaraka tuhu

bismillah
asalamualikum warahma tullahi wabaraka tuhu

Alhamdulillah for the blessing of Allah, for giving me tawpiq to buy this book, and then to benefit from it.

I wrote a little review of this book last Summer, when i started reading this book a little and then stopped as college started.

Alhamdulillah, now after a year later, after going over madinah books - all 3 - couple of more times, i decided to start this book again. Alhamdulillah.

i really have to say, the book is SO easy, masha-Allah, and this book has an intro. from Shaykh Muqbil, and the author and shaykh Muqbil both said this book is for beginner.

also, it is very easy for me to go over the book, and not go into the dictionary for once to check up any words. The book is about 166 pages long, and i have finished up to 60+ pages, there were few words i did not know exact meaning of but i didn't bother go into the dictionary becauseContext was enough to tell me the meaning. Alhamdulillah.

also, due to going over madinah 3 books DVD found online that i bought and went over, Alhamdulillah the book is even more easy for me to go over, all grammar terms are familiar to me, و الإعراب is even more easy Alhamdulillah.

The author teaches you a topic and then gives you ayat of Qur'an having that topic grammar, and then he gives you grammatical analysis of the ayat mentioned in full. Alhamdulillah.

and there are footnotes that gives you extra benefit to the main book explanations, where the author quotes from the advance grammar books to clarify many grammar points. He said to read them after reading the main shar of the book, i find it personally some of the quotes a little hard to understand, maybe due to new words in them. i don't mind on that at all.

Also, going over shaykh Uthaymeen's explanation aljaromiyah audio dars, HELPS a lot alhamdulillah. Shaykh uthaymeen teaches more than what this book teaches and he gives more explanation and examples and goes over the examples in detail and he talks back and forth with students and asks questions and answers and corrects the students, so all these helps a lot. alhamdulillah.

i like one thing in shaykh uthaymeen teaching, he will ask a question and then confuse the students with right and wrong answer, to make sure the students actually know the correct answer, if they answer, he will ask why and they will answer why such or else shaykh clarifies. alhamdulillah. this establishes a firm root in understanding the lessons taught. alhamdulillah.

finally, this book is sold here: http://alhujjahpublication.org/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=87&category_id=5&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=65

you should buy it, very simple and easy books. Yes there are many charts mash-Allah. alhamdulillah.

i think after reading the note on the site about the book, i bought the book alhamdulillah. the site was down back then, so i told umm Kutubah to sent me while i pay her. alhamdulillah.

Umm kutubah has been going over this book for a while now, i hope she will finish soon. insha-allah.

Because i finished full madinah book series, i find almost all materials review for me. alhamdulilllah.

also, i really suggest that you memorize aljaromiya really well before you start its shar reading and studying, this will help you a lot. alhamdulillah.

so far i am just reading the book, i don't write out anything or take notes, sometimes i find nice points and i want to make note of it, then thinking, should i or no. So far in my Learning of arabic, i took no notes, i don't now, i just say, these are in the book, i can just use the books. RIGHT?

insha-allah after finishing this book and the audio dars of shaykh uthaymeen, i will give a review of both, then i think i will make a notebook to take note of important things or new things etc.

this is the first time i am reading a full arabic grammar book with the aim to finish it. i am really tired of Madinah books, i don't want to touch them maybe in next few months, i do have to go over last 10 lessons of 3rd book for the 3rd time. I cannot wait to be fluent and reading and learning my Deen in full Arabic.

i don't like dictionary use, i would suggest whoever wishes to go over this book, finish all 3 madinah books, [with the DVD lessons found online], then i can assure you with 98% assurance that you won't have to go back to dictionary in reading this book unless YOU WANT TO.

Because i don't like dictionary use too much, i want to be fluent enough to read Arabic books.

if you finish all 3 madinah books, you will find aljaromiyah in most part a REVIEW for you and if you do aljaromiay first then madinah books will be review for you. so either way you decide. right?

alhamdulillah.

i hope you all buy this book and enjoy reading it and benefit insha-allah.
